After the big success of last year’s contest, short stories from over 10 countries had been sent in, the organizers expect an even bigger participation. By means of the contest the school for adult education tries to stimulate writing and reading, discover hidden talent for literature and arouse imagination.

The Teulada Town Hall in collaboration with the department for adult education established the following rule: the short story will have no more than 300 words and starts with the sentence: “It was a typical autumn afternoon, the streets of the town branded with dried leaves…” The story needs to be written in Castellano or Valenciano and it is important that the original, previously unreleased story will be handed in.

The jury consists of neutral staff of the adult education school and the winner will receive 100 Euros to be used in any of the local bookshops or at any local stationer’s.

Participants must be older than 16 and the story needs to be sent to the following email address:fpa@teuladamoraira.org. Deadline is 30th November 2016. Don’t forget to add your name and surname, your year of birth, your DNI number, address and phone number where you can be contacted.

The councillor Daniel Ibanco encourages all citizens and especially amateur writers to participate and if possible use Teulada-Moraira as setting of their story.
