Choosing where to stay in Moraira is about more than finding a sea view. The town centre, El Portet and surrounding residential areas offer different holiday experiences, with hills, walking routes and transport access making a real difference. Our guide helps you choose a location that suits beach days, family holidays or a quieter villa stay, with practical advice on what to check before booking accommodation.

A terrace overlooking the Mediterranean is tempting, but think about the journeys you will make every day. Can you walk to breakfast, carry shopping home and return comfortably after dinner?
Moraira’s accommodation extends beyond its compact centre into residential areas where terrain and access vary considerably. Check the exact property location, rather than assuming that everything advertised as “Moraira” is within an easy walk of the beach.
For visitors who want restaurants, shops and the waterfront close together, central Moraira is our first area to consider.
L’Ampolla Beach sits beside the castle in the town centre, making this a practical base for combining beach time with meals and browsing.
Check whether the accommodation overlooks a busy street or restaurant terrace, and ask about stairs, lifts and parking. Being central makes everyday outings simpler, although excursions still need transport planning.

Choose the area around El Portet Beach if spending time by the bay is your priority.
The important distinction is close to the shoreline versus higher on the hillside. A property with a view over El Portet can involve a substantial uphill return. Ask for the walking route to the beach and check it before booking, especially with young children or limited mobility.
For a stay here, also consider how often you will want to visit central Moraira for shopping and evening meals.

Pla del Mar is an established residential area close to Moraira’s centre. It is worth considering if you want a villa setting while keeping town visits within reach.
Walking convenience varies by property. Check the route, gradient and pavement provision rather than accepting “walking distance” as a complete description.
The area around Les Platgetes suits visitors interested in the coastline on the Calpe side of town. The beach has a promenade, gardens and parking beside it.
When looking at accommodation in Moravit, establish how far it sits inland from the coast. Check road crossings and the route to your preferred beach: proximity on a map does not guarantee straightforward pedestrian access.

These residential areas are useful places to look for a villa-based holiday, with detached properties and varying access to the beaches and town.
Consider them if you expect to spend time around the pool and make planned outings. Some locations may suit walking into town; others are more convenient with a car. Ask about nearby food shops and the return journey from restaurants.
Benimeit and Paichi are areas to investigate if you are drawn to hillside villas and coastal views.
Plan for transport unless the property’s walking access is clearly established. Check steep driveways, steps between parking and the entrance, and access to the pool or terrace. These details matter as much as the view for families and guests with mobility needs.
San Jaime is associated with the residential area around Ifach Golf, near the Moraira–Benissa boundary.
Treat accommodation here as a separate location choice from central Moraira. Check the nearest shops, beach access and driving route to town. If the listing says Benissa Costa, establish which cove or neighbourhood it is actually near.
Teulada is the inland town within the municipality, with a historic centre recognised for its Gothic heritage. It offers a different base from coastal Moraira.
Consider it if town life and inland exploring appeal, while planning transport for beach visits. Read our Getting Around Moraira guide before relying on buses or train connections.
Ask the host for the exact location, the walking route to essentials, any steep slopes or steps, and parking arrangements. Check air conditioning and whether the pool is private or shared.
For arrival planning, see Getting to Moraira from Alicante and Valencia Airports. If hiring a car, read Parking in Moraira.
Our recommendation: start with central Moraira for a stay without a car, El Portet for beach proximity, and the residential villa areas when you are comfortable arranging transport.
