Cueva de las Calaveras - The Cave of the Skulls - offers a great day out for all the family.
Discover stalactites, stalagmites, fossils and more in these caves that are over 900 metres in length.
La Cueva de las Calaveras "Cave of Skulls" is situated in a magnificent location, located to the north of the province of Alicante in Benidoleig.
A complete wonder of nature, access to the caves costs 3.90€ per adult, and 2€ per child, where you get to see amazing formations including Stalactites and Stalagmites.
Opening hours are 09:00 to 18:00 in the Winter, 09:00 to 20:00 in the Summer.
This is an ideal day out for the family from Calpe, Javea & Moraira, when you want to cool off from the heat of the Spanish sunshine, and there is a shop and cafe outside the caves for refeshments & gifts.

History
The caves were named after an 17th century expedition led to the discovery of the remains of 12 people.
The Cave of Skulls was inhabited between Neanderthals and Hommo Sapiens, as can be seen from the numerous remains that will be discovered on your visit.
