El Castell de Guadalest, or simply Guadalest, is a beautiful historic mountain village on the Costa Blanca. Only accessible through a 15 foot tunnel known as the Portal de San Jose, the village has a charming feel to it.

Guadalest's 11th century castle offers phenomenal views of the reservoir -the Embalse de Guadalest - and the town. Despite being partially damaged from earthquakes, it remains a breathtaking staple of the village.

Since 1996, Guadalest's reservoir has been supplying water to the orchards of the Marina Baja orchards. The impressive panoramic view visible from the circular route is unbeatable - and it's also possible to bathe and fish in certain areas.
