WALKING IN JAVEA - WALKING IN MORAIRA RUTA DE LOS ACANTILADOS - The Route of the Cliffs - is a short 4km round trail off the coastline of Benitachell that leads from Cala Moraig to Cala Llebeig and back. Cala Llebeig can only be reached on foot (or sea). The walk offers magnificent, panoramic views of the coastline and mediterranean vegetation. There are some ancient caves from fishermen you can visit.

WALKING IN JAVEA - WALKING IN MORAIRA RUTA DE LOS ACANTILADOS - The Route of the Cliffs - is a short 4km round trail off the coastline of Benitachell that leads from Cala Moraig to Cala Llebeig and back. Cala Llebeig can only be reached on foot (or sea).

The walk offers magnificent, panoramic views of the coastline and mediterranean vegetation. There are some ancient caves from fishermen you can visit. This walk is not suitable for all ages and conditions, since it is a path along a cliff with some dangerous parts (slippery).

In summer its recommended to do the route in the late afternoon, or start it early morning and spend a day at the beach Llebeig and return when there is shade all the way.The route can be made with children, but not in the last sector which descending and ascending will be difficult.

 

Route Information

Start on the road leading to Cala Moraig by climbing up a slippery area and soon you will have a wonderful view of the bay and part of the coast of Benitachell.

Along the way you will see many caves built with stone and mud, used by fishermen and farmers over the years.
As you walk you will experience carob, olive and fig trees as well as pine, lavender, rosemary, and other Mediterranean flora.

As you leave the Cala Morro de Bou, headed with caution to Cala Llebeig . This last part is the most dangerous because it is very slippery.

As you reach Cala Llebeig, you will find a stunning small cove, inaccessible to road traffic with 3 houses offering a special charm.  In addition, you can also see some caves built by residents of Benitachell.

PARKING

To start the route leave the car in the car park that leads to the Cala Moraig and climb the road that has a red border on the left. There you will see a sign to start the trail.
