Anne explains below how Osteopathy was developed and how it benefits her many patients as a form of health care. 

"Osteopathy was originally developed by Dr Andrew Taylor Still, an American Doctor, in the United States in the 1880s. He devised a system of manual therapy that improved the function of the body and helped it to overcome illness and pain.

The therapy has benefitted from over 100 years of research and testing to become one of the most important forms of physical therapy available today.We are well known for being expert “back specialists” but we actually treat problems over the whole body.

Osteopaths use touch, manipulation, stretching and massage to increase the mobility of joints, to relieve muscle tension, to enhance the blood and nerve supply to tissues, and to help your body’s own healing mechanisms. They also provide advice on posture and exercise to aid recovery, promote health and prevent symptoms reoccurring.
